Late 19th-Century French Glazed Display Cabinet – 89½"

This handsome French two-piece display cabinet dates from the late 19th century and may have originally been made for a hatter or mercer's shop. Crafted in solid wood with attractive contrasting grain, it features an elegant arched cornice with dentil molding above two glazed doors fitted with old, slightly wavy glass that lends a soft, lively reflection. Inside, the upper section is painted a striking turquoise blue and fitted with shaped shelves that create a more dynamic display, while two discreet drawers tucked beneath the lowest shelf provide convenient hidden storage. Below, two paneled doors open to a spacious cupboard fitted with a single full-width shelf, all locking with a key. The shaped apron adds a final note of refinement, while the cabinet presents with a rich, naturally aged patina throughout.

Its generous proportions and beautifully balanced silhouette make it a natural focal point in a kitchen, dining room, or living space. The weathered turquoise interior provides a vibrant backdrop for porcelain, glassware, or collected objects, while the warm honey-toned wood creates a welcoming, lived-in atmosphere with unmistakable country charm.
